The coming year will bring more inventive and persistent efforts by scammers trying to separate you from your money. As the economy creates challenges for businesses and consumers it, unfortunately, creates opportunity for those perpetuating a scam. In the last few months the BBB has received calls indicative of a big increase and new variations of many common scams. Unprecedented change in our markets has brought out the worst in some people. Desperate consumers facing financial difficulty are easy marks; don't become a victim. As we enter 2009 remember to protect yourself and your families from being ripped off.
