The Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) is about to have its annual IG inspection. Now's your chance to give feedback and get a coupon for doing so. Also, if you swiped your charge card at an AAFES facility on August 7th, 8th or 9th, 2010 AAFES wants you to check your credit/debit card statement.
The AAFES Inspector General's office is about to do their annual worldwide inspection of exchange operations. As part of the inspection, they're interested in feedback from authorized shoppers about customer relations and support, so they want you to take a quick survey. To make it worth your time, if you take the survey you will receive either a coupon for 10 percent off an Exchange Online Store order or a voucher for a $3 discount that can be applied to a BX/PX in-store purchase of $20 or more. The AAFES IG survey is available at www.aafes.com/IGsurvey.
Here are the locations eligible to participate in the survey and receive the discount, now through the end of September:
Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom
Ft. Leonard Wood
Ft. Sam Houston
For those who shop at these locations, the AAFES IG survey is available at www.aafes.com/IGsurvey.
Now, as to the credit/debit card issue, on August 7th, 8th and 9th, 2010, AAFES experienced a processing error that resulted in double billing for those who swiped their card at an AAFES facility on those dates. AAFES has been working hard to quickly correct the billing error and refund the extra charges, so you shouldn't need to take action - UNLESS you got an overdraft fee or other service charge because of the double billing. If that did happen, according to an August 14th article by Karen Jowers in Army Times, you should bring documentation such as an overdraft notice or online statement to your nearest exchange. If you don't live near an exchange, call 214-465-6088, listen to the directions and then leave a message. You can also call 214-465-6149. AAFES has said they are committed to doing the right thing and refunding any overdraft charges triggered by this glitch.
